Westside Neighborhood Clinic (WNC)
Mission and History
It is the mission of Westside
Neighborhood Clinic to contribute to the wellness of the people
of the Long Beach community by providing low cost medical
services to the medically indigent. The clinic also provides
ongoing educational and training experiences in family medicine
to medical professionals and paraprofessionals to increase
their awareness of the health care needs of the medically
indigent. Through the use of their expertise they contribute
to the wellness of the community, providing both student and
patient with a quality experience.
Westside Neighborhood Clinic is a non-profit,
501(c)(3) community clinic, dedicated to the health care needs
of low income, uninsured families and individuals who reside
primarily in West Long Beach. The clinic has been serving
this population from the same location since 1975. The staff
is bilingual in English and Spanish and culturally sensitive
to a target group that is 75% women and children.

clinic offers a wide variety of family health services
including:
- General acute and chronic
care
- Pediatrics
- Immunizations
- Prenatal care
- Women’s services
- Health education
- Referrals for those
services not offered at the clinic

Beyond its commitment to quality health care, the clinic is
committed to functioning as a training facility for future
health care providers, hosting family practice residents,
nurse practitioner students, medical students, and medical
assistant and phlebotomist trainees in a multicultural and
multidisciplinary training setting. The clinic was recently
approved as a Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alike
agency.
NonProfit Status
The Westside Neighborhood Clinic
is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit organization. It is
exempt from tax under Title 26 U.S.C., Section 501(c)(3) and
contributions made to it are tax deductible.
